What You're Missing In the Perfect Tee Shirt Hunt
It's actually the key to the shirt, not just the feel.
Every outlet writes about the best tee shirts - weight, length, feel, how it washes. It’s usually of the white tee shirt variety. The price point is especially important - ranging from The Row ($4000000 dollars) to Old Navy cropped everyday tee (I buy them in sets of…10? Old Navy is almost giving away their clothing with the coupons).

I’m sure you have a favorite tee shirt, especially if it’s vintage. I’ve collected vintage tee shirts on and off for 25-ish years. I started on Melrose in about 2001, and then from there went all over New York, DC, Paris, LA, and every small town I could get my hands on.
Take out your two favorite tee shirts. Here’s what you’re missing.
YOU’RE NOT MEASURING THEM.
Here is how to measure a tee shirt:
Pit to Pit. Lay it flat - and the seam under your pit to the seam under your pit.
Length: from the BACK. From the tag up top / collar to the bottom.
What are your ideal measurements? Mine are 19 inches by 21 inches.
When you go shop for tee shirts - bring a tape measure. I’m out here at Silverlake Flea with my own tape measure.
You can also buy this silly thing that I own.
When you buy on Poshmark etc: READ THE MEASUREMENTS. Know them. You’ll nail it every time.
